Basically I've been studying like a madman since my last post. I spend most of last weekend writing two papers. And this weekend I have two more to write. So I'm not particularly looking forward to that. Although there will also be some Halloween festivities amongst the Americans here in Freiburg this weekend. So that should be fun. I need to come up with a costume still.
I think I've written more papers this semester than ever before. Or at least it seems that way. I always have papers to write. And just about every class except for German is requiring a term paper of sorts, which are generally 10-15 pages each. Crappy. This weekend I have to write a 4 page policy statement for my political science seminar and a 8-10 page first draft of my term paper for Regions in the EU. My paper is discussing devolution in the United Kingdom and why Scottish independence is not a political reality in the foreseeable future. Fairly interesting actually. But tough to write.
So I'm officially over the half way point of my stay in Europe. That's crazy. Two months has gone by just like that. It's almost freaking November. Geez. Here's what my schedule is like for the rest of the semester. I have classes this week and next week. Then I have a field-study trip to Rome, Madrid, and Barcelona from 5 November to 14 November. Then two weeks of classes before Thanksgiving break (we get that Thursday and Friday off). Then two final weeks of classes, followed by a week of finals. Then I'm done. Holy crap. That seems like really soon.
The weather here is still staying fairly nice actually. Today will have a high of about 60 F. Not bad. I keep waiting for it to get cold, but it just hasn't happened yet.
I basically fail at cooking on electric stoves. I've never used them that much before, because we always had a gas stove growing up. So I'm not a big fan of electric. My eggs this morning were a disaster. There's a possibility that I set off the smoke alarm. I think I'll stick to the toaster.
